We are thrilled to announce that the Zalala Foundation has been selected to participate in the Big Give Small Charity Week match funding campaign this June! For a small charity like ours, this is a massive milestone as it means any donation made during the campaign week will be doubled up to £5,000!
To give you an idea of how significant this is: out of 1,108 charities that applied nationwide, only 257 were chosen. We are honoured to be among them for our first-ever match funding campaign with the Big Give.
What does this mean?
From 22nd June at 12pm (UK time) to 29th June at 12pm, your generosity will go twice as far. Thanks to the Big Give’s match funding model, every £1 you donate will automatically become £2 – at no extra cost to you. And if you are a UK taxpayer and add Gift Aid, £1 turns into £2.25!
Our Goal: £10,000 for Livelihoods
We are aiming to raise £10,000 to expand our community-led credit and savings groups. These groups allow local women, men, and youth to gain vital financial skills and transform small amounts of cash into long-term security.
We know this model works because we see the life-changing results every day. As Sonia, a 33-year-old mother in our programme shared:
“In just 10 months, I saved enough to buy cooking utensils to make cakes and bread to sell in the local market. Now, I use that money to pay for my children’s school uniforms!”
With your help during this campaign, we can ensure more parents like Sonia and Abiba have the tools to build a better future for their families.
