Water for school children and local Idugo residents

Between 23rd-25th March, ten families  from Dubai with children aged 5 and above spent 5 days in the communities to complete and inaugurate a solar-powered borehole and water tank providing plentiful clean water for the children and other communities members of Idugo island. The project was developed and supported by Blue Forest, an organisation committed to preserving and increasing mangroves in Mozambique and elsewhere in the world.

The project, which was facilitated by the Zalala Foundation, provided an opportunity for the visiting families to witness first-hand the reality of life in Idugo and Supinho and the importance of water for schoolchildren , as well as adults in these communities. Members of the group also joined in with local communities members planting mangrove seeds along the coast. Read more
