On 2nd December, a special fundraising event was hosted in the beautiful home of a Foundation supporter to raise money for the Zalala Foundation. Angela Hadjipateras, the Foundation’s Founder and Director, gave a presentation of the Foundation’s work over the last decade in the form of a photo journey. The guests present expressed their praise and admiration for all that has been achieved by the Foundation.
In addition to hearing about this work, the evening included performances from scenes of Shakespeare’s plays performed by film and stage celebrities: Kathryn Hunter, Simon McBurney, Ben Wishaw, Alex Lawther and members of the Intermission Youth Theatre. Musical accompaniment was provided by Gwyn Jay Allen, Suntou Susso (cora) and Patrice Naiambana.
The event raised over 15,000 GBP which will contribute to Foundation projects. In addition, awareness of the work of the Foundation was raised and we hope that our new followers and supporters will continue to spread the word so that we can grow and flourish and expand our work in the local communities – Idugo and Supinho.
