
After completing a 3-month course, 12 students, 8 girls and 4 boys, were given their certificates in a ceremony presided over by the District Administrador of Quelimane and other community and government representatives.
At the event, the children sang songs and gave a short drama performance for the visitors expressing their joy and sense of achievement. Speeches were made congratulating their achievement and encouraging them to maintain and develop the skills attained and apply these to all their future endeavours. Each graduate was given a Certificate and a mobile phone as a prize. In addition, certificates were given to the Foundation Staff and to members of the Childrens Parliament and the Association of the Girls of Zambezia and also to the Sewing Trainer as a recognition of their dedication and support for this activity. The Association also gave a gift to Angela, the founder and executive of the Fundacao Zalala.
Examples of the articles sewing by members of the group, including beautiful dresses, shirts, shorts, masks and also reusable sanitary towels were on display and many were sold.
