The topic of menstrual hygiene comprised the latest topic of discussion in the Girls’ Clubs. The main message was around how to maintain hygiene during menstruation. The girls were told that menstruation is a normal function of the female body. In the sewing groups, girls were also taught how to sew reusable cloths that, as well as maintaining hygiene during menstruation, also enable girls to maintain school attendance and not miss class. The sewing session was run in collaboration with one of the teachers employed by AMME, the Association for Girls and Education.
