Girls meet to agree their Vision and Mission

Following the official inauguration of ORIS at the end of 2020, the girls met early in 2021 to agree their vision, mission and objectives. The discussion was facilitated by an experienced member of ARZ – the Association of Girls in Zambezia.

They agreed on their shared vision of a community where all girls can get an education and their rights are known, understood, respected and protected. Their mission and objectives focussed around ending premature marriage, reducing school absenteeism and challenging all norms and practices that are damaging to girls and their interests.

Their shared mission and vision are enshrined in the Statutes of the organisation that were formulated by a legally qualified member of ARZ.

The members of the Governance body – the President, Vice-President and Treasurer – were also elected at the meeting.
