On the 1st June, we celebrated the International Day of the Child in Idugo. To mark this special day, we distributed school kits for all the children who have been actively participating in the Girl Move programme to promote girls education, 50 in Idugo and 50 in Supinho. Each kit contained exercise books, biros, coloured pencils, a rubber and a sharpener. In addition, all the children received a cap and a T-shirt. During the day, the children performed dances, songs and they also performed several educational dramas. Parents, teachers and community leaders all gathered around to join in the celebrations. In his speech, the School Director praised the Zalala Foundation and noted that whereas in the past, only a handful of girls attended school regularly, there are now over 100 girls in regular attendance!
