As part of the activities planned for members of the 7 girl’s clubs, this week a practical agriculture course has started for our beneficiaries. The aim of the activity is to equip them with the skills to prepare the soil for various cultures.

The aim is for girls to be able to grow vegetables in small plots provided close to their homes. In addition to the individual benefits for the girls and their families, this will have benefits for the community at large in terms of improved nutrition and farming techniques.

This week in a horticulture field, they learned how to:

– prepare the soil; and

– measure the rows and the distances between rows

The speed with which they learnt these skills was impressive!
